White Page

Well this pretty much speaks for itself...(Christian is drooling)...our two first highschool loves united!

Love Dave

A Band of Stars from the Milky Way

I changed our bi-line...clever.

We should practise on the friday or weekend after we all finish exams. And possibly drink beer and eat cheese steaks. We should adopt that new sound that we discovered at practise with our new sweet-belle and sebas-esque groove song/pop sweetness.

Anyway, we should practise and write and write and write. And record on my tape recorder all of our efforts (The tape recorder is legendary, records pretty clearly and rustic and cool). Then we'll play Ric's and then the Bowery Ballroom, New York City.

I can't study.

Love Dave.

UPDATE: i figured out how to post audio files for download.
So here are two Stats tracks from the archives that are cool (they have no vocals).

Square one: http://s33.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0VXMAXU9DCXAO067WCFW6LZLWR

&...

Square two: http://s33.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=3A3KBGQY3PO7M2KMZ9ZMQZI4VU

to download: right click "download now" and select "Save Target As..." then save it.

i'm not sure why they are so big in size, the first song goes for 45 seconds the second about 2 mins or something. Anyway, i hope you can do it!

"You guys, are like, so talented"

Well the gig went well. It was generally a drunken-girly mess, with the set list being followed mostly religiously except for two breaks instead of one, huge interuptions and noise restrictions. The set list as far as i can recall went a little something like this:

1. Hardest button

2. Expresso

3. is this it

4. World without end

---Speeches.....(cut short because of computer shit, go back on unexpectadly)

5. Make noise which spasms into tambourine-beats and Hit me baby one more time - Britney Spears.

6. Christian's song, i think??

7. Molly's Chambers maybe

8. Where is my mind?

---Speeches again for about 4 hours.

9. Pyshco Killer

10. Wasted and Ready

11. Seven nation army (half of it)

By this time it was around 12:01am and we had gone on at about 9:45pm or there abouts. We managed to book ourselves another follow up show...in Esk in country Queensland where we would "need to careful about risky material" and that we would probably get beaten. HAnnAH politely responded, "just give christian your number, we'll see if we can"...

Highlight?(besides free alcohol) 14 year old waitresses in short skirts advising us that we were, like, really talented and then running away giggling. Resulting in Myles pondering, "did that just happen?", none of us really were sure if we were just mocked or severly slammed by teenagers.

Anyway, good luck with exams on monday 75% of the band!

Love Soda Pop Fizz

(p.s. correct me if the set list is wrong, proably is...)

Bludgeoned in your bed

We should cover Big Mouth Strikes Again by The Smiths. We should perfect it note for note, drum for drum.

(not for friday)

Myles has the voice for it and it's awesome.

Space, Light and Time Travel

Because we love conspiracy theories and amazing space facts so much here at soda-pop-fizz.blogspot.com let us discuss radio waves and how the hell do they carry data from one point to another, the size and magnitude of space and its mystery, galaxy human clones and indentical twins, black hole travel and the space time continium. Feel free to discuss the moon landing hoax, the JFK assasination, aliens, area 51, secret CIA operatives in the public sphere and crop circles.

Everyone has some kind opinion on these matters so please share what you have heard, read or thought due to hyper-galactic brain waves sent by un-human life forms.

Love Christian & Dave

dress ups

just quickly...
hank mcboobies/hannah and i discussed that we should dress ourselves after practise before heading of to the party and this would lead to a good photo opportunity to put on the top banner of this site or just for fun.

so bring props or propose suggestive poses and themes...

we can do it with the timer on the young's digital camera, stats cover art style

anyway sorry to clog up this thing with more stuff,

dave

p.s. someone already stole your name hank!! (googled "mcboobies")

The Strokes Live in Brazil last night playing new song:

Hawaii Aloha from First Impressions of Earth

(click on link)
(coincidently, Dad just made port in Brazil at the same time, he won the race from Portugal by the way)

love dave.

p.s. the link might die soon, not sure how long those things last....

in other news:
- Yeah Yeah Yeahs have completed their second full length album which is due, apparently in march.
- Carl Barat (former libertine) names his new band Dirty Pretty Things after his club night in London
- Radiohead album due early next year to feature robots, spacemen and a weird frontman with a wonky eye

Long Lost Brothers

Siggie says, "hey paul giamatti and har mar superstar look like long lost twins"...

True.

First Impression of cover art

i like it a lot.

in other related topics...
WHAT TO WEAR TO THE PARTY AS A BAND:
- i think this is fuckin hard, we all don't exactly dress similar except for maybe christ and david but that's just silly. Maybe it could be like a split thing, such as, dave and hannah wear similar things and myles and christ wear similar things (and/or vise versa), or, maybe myles could go all frontman and wear something and the rest of the band wears suits for this occassion.

anyway, any idea counts; no shame, no gain; no-one will scoff at your suggestions besides maybe christian who is a painfully disgusting prick.

comment away.............

love dave

Collective respect

I just read that the late great british radio disc-jockey John Peel has about 26,000 vinyl, 40,000 singles and 40,000 cds in his collection. That makes a total of 106, 000 pieces. That means if he started collecting when he was born he got 31 a week or 4 a day. He was only 65 when he died.

His late wife lives on the Peel Acres where the collection is kept in a number of barns and stables...

good god.

(they were probably all free as well)

well that was pointless but interesting.......

love dave
p.s. it's the one year anniversary for John Peel

2. wasted and ready
3. Christian song
4. hardest button to button
5. world without end
6. is this it

love dave.

p.s. perhaps this will distract you

hannah, this is the man we were talking about, knee bendingly, crushingly good looking. and he's barely legal. Christian and dave have official man crushes.
