C-C-Christmas!!

Found these on a website for a vintage Guitar shop in New York City (Matt Umanov Guitars 273 Bleecker St. NY, NY 10014 (212), if you were wondering). Have a look at the website for more...including a Gibson acoustic from 1937!! At a bargain $US4,295.00 (that's $5, 862 Australian Christian, just in case you buy it!)

Hopefully these are in someone's stocking on Sunday!

sorry for posting so much.

Dave...candy-cane's on the way...

Lonesome, Romantic Christmas (jingle, jingle)

All you lovers or lonesomes out there in radioland might enjoy these two at Christmas time; relaxing by the fire or having a snowball fight or rolling around in silk sheets or day dreaming about romance:

Yes I'm Ready - Barbara Mason - romance in 3:03 minutes

Play this one second, out on the town in your red convertible with your boy or girl or laughing at those crazy floosies at Birdee Num Num.

Them Terrible Boots - The Orlons (probably one of the best songs i've ever heard)

And, tomorrow i will bring you your Christmas gifts a little early since i'll be away for 10 days while Hank McBoobies keeps the home fires burning.

Just like Santa Claus, the gifts are red and white...

Love St. Dave

P.s.
The sad part of Christmas...pay your respects.

Run, Run, Run

Well, i will be running to Rockinghorse at 9am tomorrow morning to try and amend my continuing and idiotic stupidity. In the mean time i did another one of those SodaPopArt things made of a US Quarter. Cool.

MP3s:
Jose Gonzalez - Hand on your heart. Jose is the same guy your hear on the awesome, awesome San-Fran set bouncy ball ad for the Sony television...its an advertising thing. Anyway, a little sappy but pretty darn good at the same time. (And it's a cover of a Kylie song...always a bonus)

Ike and Tina Turner - River Deep Mountain High. Yes, i know i thought i knew it too. But...this is the Phil Spector mix version of it. You thought yeah Phil pissed of Macca and the Beatles but he did some good stuff...No you were right, he is a mad c***. As seen here during his murder trial.
And,

The Aislers Set - Chicago New York. Sounds like Belle & Sebastien, not as good, but a pleasant malibu and pineapple type of song...

(Source: Said The Gramophone)

Love Dave, wish me luck tomorrow getting a ticket.

Tobias Fünke: "Okay, Lindsay, are you forgetting that I was a professional twice over - an analyst and a therapist. The world's first analrapist."

I want to post more MP3s more often (could be a very hollow promise); just stuff i find and directly steal. And then one day when thousands of people read this i can put on local stuff like I Heart Hiroshima's new Demo or The French Horns cool new track or something...

Imogen Heap - Hide and Seek
Field Music - Shorter Shorter (from FieldMusic.co.uk)
Brand spanking new and highly recommended (of course, they are the modern day Smiths): Belle & Sebastien - We Are The Sleepyheads (from gorrilla.vs.bear)
MIA - Hombre
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah - Skin of my yellow country teeth
The Morning After Girls - Shadows Evolve (from triplej.net.au)

Coming Soon:
- Those John Peel's favourite singles thing i promised about 6 months ago
- And christmas songs
- More hollow promises

Love Dave

UPDATE:
Belle & Sebastien - song for sunshine

X

Without being preachy, the riots in Cronulla today make me feel excruciatingly sorry for people who live in a world that disrespects someone because of the colour of their skin through mob mentality. Sure, Australia has a reputation of being perhaps culturally unaccepting but i always felt it was the minority; 5 thousand people at Cronulla proved me wrong. People like that make me want to throw up.

The worst thing about it is they don't even know they are wrong, and i can't do anything about it.

I'm not ashamed i'm Australian, i'm ashamed they are.

sorry...couldn't go un-said...

The Year and the Morning After, girls

The Morning After Girls are really very good. Sydney band you've probably heard of before: they sound like early dandys and the brian jonestown massacre. Here are two songs:

s t r a i g h t t h r u y o u &
h i s k i e s (right click, 'save target as')

And for blogging sake: what was the 5 best tracks, 5 best albums and 5 best films of 2005.

2005 has also been a year of bust-ups; Jack White finally divorced Meg and married a Scarlett woman, Nick and Jessica broke, Julian Casablancas separated with the bottle to be with his employer and Paris left Paris. Who will get together and fail in 2006? Condeleeza Rice and Samuel L Jackson?, Bob Dylan and Shania Twain?, Tony Abbott and George Pell?

I can't think of mine yet, so i will include them in the comments.

Love and Merry Christmas, Dave.
